Thanksgiving is probably my favorite holiday. It’s the least commercialized, the most focused on ‘being’ rather than doing, and a beautiful last way station before the super consumption-y holiday season kicks into full throttle.

Just enjoying a meal with loved ones and taking the day to reflect on all there is to be thankful for… that’s pretty great.

We’ll be going out with my in-laws and daughter and her boyfriend. There’s no way I’m going to try cooking a Thanksgiving meal in the toaster oven!

Request for Advice

I’m in a coaching program called Living the Offgrid Dream, and the founder floated a pretty cool idea I’m considering for funding the retreat center build.

Here’s the gist of it:

How this works is someone puts in, let's say $50k, and we build a geodesic dome on our land with the money, and we rent it out.

We then pay that person back 25 or 30% of the rental income capped at $100k.

They make double their money, they get to come use it a few weeks out of the year as a family cabin, and they never have to manage it or worry about maintenance.
