Jason’s three-phase approach is as simple as 1-2-3 (literally):

  1. Understandability: Make sure people and machines can figure out who you are and why you’re awesome.

  2. Credibility: Show why you’re the best thing since sliced bread for your target audience.

  3. Deliverability: Be everywhere your audience is hanging out—without being a digital stalker.

Starting Simple: Your Personal Website

Forget the bells and whistles. Jason suggests starting with a simple one-page website. Think of it as your online elevator pitch, minus the awkward small talk:

  • Your name (because, duh)

  • A clear description of who you are and what you do

  • The audience you serve

  • Why people should trust you (no pressure)

  • A great photo (because we’re all a little vain)

This page is your digital HQ, linking to all your social profiles and online mentions.

The Visual Power of Consistency

Jason’s secret weapon?

A red shirt.

Seriously.

It’s his visual cue that makes him instantly recognizable.

He wears a red shirt EVERY TIME he’s doing something public for his business. (OK, fellow Star Trek nerds, I know you just clenched a bit, bracing for something awful to happen to him!)

So, what’s your red shirt?

A color, a logo, maybe even a catchphrase?

Use it everywhere to become unforgettable.

Focusing Your Efforts

Jason’s golden nugget of wisdom: focus where your audience is already lurking. Don’t be that person trying to be everywhere at once. Instead:

  1. Find out where your audience hangs out online

  2. Create content they can’t resist

  3. Show up consistently like a reliable friend

  4. Always include a call-to-action (because we’re not mind readers)

Remember, attention is great, but you need to tell people what to do next.

Protecting Your Brand from AI Misrepresentation

Jason also warned about the AI boogeyman.

If AI systems like ChatGPT get the wrong idea about you, they could misrepresent you to billions.

Yikes!

The fix?

Take control of your online narrative. Consistently present clear, accurate info about yourself to “educate” these AI systems.

  1. Create a simple, clear website about who you are and what you do

  2. Choose a visual element to use consistently across all platforms

  3. Identify where your audience is looking and show up there consistently
